MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 5th Operations Support Squadron Aircrew Flight Equipment section is responsible for all aircrew life-saving, performance enhancement and chemical protective clothing utilized by all 205 aircrew personnel assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing. The AFE aircrew support section ensures all equipment is serviceable prior to each mission and are on-duty for each take-off and landing to correct any aircrew related equipment issues that may arise. The overall purpose of AFE is to protect and sustain human life during flight operations and prepare aircrew and passengers to survive, affect their rescue, and return to duty if forced to abandon their aircraft during an emergency.
