MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Congratulations to Senior Airman Gene McBride, 705th Munitions Squadron for earning the 5th Bomb Wing Own It Award. McBride has epitomized the 5th BW commander’s vision of mission ownership. He manages nine critical programs and six facilities for seven work centers containing 238 personnel. His efforts ensure maintenance production of 155 Re-entry Systems and 496 Air Launched Cruise Missiles supporting the 5th BW as well as the 91st Missile Wing. McBride has been instrumental in preparations to establish initial MK-21 Reentry Vehicle maintenance capability in the 5th BW. He has tirelessly researched, purchased and tracked hundreds of essential equipment items, chemicals, test measurement diagnostic equipment and spare supply parts valued at more than $20,000. His efforts were vital to allowing initial system training to begin on April 15 with only a 60-day notice instead of the forecasted 120-day preparation. Senior Airman McBride is a great example of self-motivated, hard charging Airman that ensures mission success. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Stephanie Ashley)
