Additional B-52 aircraft arrive to support Afghanistan drawdown Published April 26, 2021 U.S. Air Forces Central Public Affairs AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar -- Two U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortress aircraft from the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, arrived at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, April 26. The bombers join two other B-52 aircraft that previously arrived to Al Udeid April 23. The aircraft are deployed to the U.S. Central Command region to protect U.S. and coalition forces as they conduct drawdown operations from Afghanistan. U.S. Central Command is committed to providing the necessary force protection to ensure the drawdown is conducted in a safe and orderly manner.
