Totally empowered
Former 5th Bomb Wing Chief of Public Affairs, Capt. Genieve David, demonstrates Gracie Jiu Jitsu techniques during an instructor certification evaluation. To receive full instructor certification she must demonstrate 15 Gracie Jiu Jitsu techniques, with their variations, in fewer than 10 minutes and score 90 percent or more. The evaluation is conducted via a video evaluation process and uploaded to the Gracie Academy Web site where it is scored. If David succeeds, she will be awarded full instructor certification for the length of two years. David completed the Gracie Jiu Jitsu Women Empowered Probationary Instructor Certification Program in April. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Kristoffer Kaubisch)
