The Health Promotions Flight is part of the 5th Medical Operations Squadron and is comprised of 3 preventative health services: the Health and Wellness Center (HAWC), the Aerospace & Operational Physiology Team (AOPT), and the Optometry Clinic. The HAWC provides all Tricare beneficiaries with resources, health education, and preventative health consultation services in exercise, diet & nutrition, and tobacco cessation. AOPT integrates human factors education for aircrew, missile operations and support personnel in topics such as altitude threats, fatigue management, and situational awareness into a variety of training and operations venues across the installation. Optometry Clinic facilitates all eye care services such as the aircrew contact lens, the Night Vision Goggle, refractive surgery, gas mask insert programs providing over 2,400 eye exams annually for 5,000 active duty personnel.
