SSgt John J. Williams, 5th Operations Support Squadron, 5th Operations Group, has epitomized the 5 BW/CC’s vision of mission ownership. Sgt. Williams stepped up and took charge of the accountability and updating of the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) with accurate Part and Serial numbers for 280 Back Automatic and 168 Drogue Parachute systems. Maintenance of the IMDS included physically checking each individual parachute data and training Aircrew Flight Equipment personnel on IMDS procedures. Furthermore, Sgt. Williams took it upon himself to ensure munitions time changes were fully accomplished prior to the departure of 6 B-52s in support of the Continuous Bomber Presence (CBP) in Guam, and 10 B-52s deploying to Ellsworth AFB. These time changes included the change out and extension of 68 cartridge actuators and 88 Universal Water Activated Release Systems (UWARS). This task guaranteed the service of munitions throughout the duration of each deployment.
