Strategic Command’s (USSTRATCOM) strategic deterrence mission, has been awarded the 
2019 Omaha Trophy for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) category.

The 5th Maintenance Squadrons Electro-Environmental Section has 16 technicians who support multiple agencies on Minot AFB, to include the 91st Missile Wing, 5th Operations Group and 5th Maintenance Group.  They service and repair 19 liquid and gaseous oxygen carts, perform major aircraft phase inspections and maintenance on the 5th Bomb Wing’s B-52H aircraft and 91st Missile Wing's UH-N1 helicopters. Due to limited manning and experience levels the shop consistently teams up with Aircraft Maintenance Squadrons Electro-Environmental section when aircraft require complex troubleshooting or during large aircraft generations to get the mission done.  The section currently has 6 members deployed to Ellsworth and Andersen AFB, Guam providing outstanding support to back shop and flight line operations.
