The 91st Missile Wing, through their extraordinary and exemplary support of the U.S. Strategic Command’s (USSTRATCOM) strategic deterrence mission, has been awarded the 2019 Omaha Trophy for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) category.

The launch door weighs nearly 110 tons and will be using 1 out of 4 actuators to move the weight of the door open. This test will perform all the actions of the launch that leads up to the opening of the launch door to ensure the safety, security, and reliability of the Minute Man III ICBM. 2009 was a year that brought progress and a renewed emphasis on safe, secure and reliable nuclear operations.
