MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 5th Medical Operations Squadron's Mental Health Flight has a total of 27 staff members assigned to provide mental health care for all Active-Duty and Active Guard personnel, dependents and retirees here. The clinic's specialties and programs include Mental Health counseling, the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention & Treatment program, the Behavioral Health Optimization Program, the Drug Demand Reduction program, Suicide Prevention, the Family Advocacy Program (including outreach), Psychological Testing, the New Parent Support Program and numerous psycho-educational classes such as stress management, sleep hygiene, anger management, and more. This clinic's work has not gone unnoticed; the Mental Health Flight has been recognized numerous times including in 2008 & 2009 by Air Combat Command, as well as by Air Force Global Strike Command in 2010 as the Category II Outstanding Behavioral Health Team and in 2011 as a part of AFGSC's Biomedical Sciences Corps Team of the Year.
