MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Operations Control Center, is a 61-person shop & a critical piece of the Team Minot puzzle. They manage a $15 million vehicle fleet of 199 Government Motor Vehicles, providing customer service to 2 wings. The VOCC also manages 3 installation programs (GMV Licensing, GMV Misuse & Training Validation & Operations). Additionally, they play a large role in the Installation Deployment Machine & have their hands in everything from Distinguished Visitor support to wrecker runs. In this photo taken at 5:30 a.m., the VOCC had already loaded 6 tractor trailer combinations with 12 HMMWVs, given their convoy brief and are headed out for a road trip to Montana. The convoy team started the 3-day operation on Aug. 27 and moved 13 HMMWVs as part of a 33 HMMWV command-leveling initiative, saving the Air Force $80,000 in commercial shipping costs.
