MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 5th Mission Support Group Consolidated Unit Inspection preparation and reception team epitomized the 5th Bomb Wing commander’s vision of mission ownership. With minimal notice and in direct support of the CUI Inspector General Team, 66 dedicated Airmen from six diverse squadrons utilized a staggering 156,000 man hours during a 129 hour period to recall and prepare 137 government vehicles for use. During this endeavor, they demonstrated superior team spirit, positive attitude and overall care to ensure every vehicle was cleaned to a 5-star level. Additionally, during these trying times due to budget constraints across the Department of Defense, their outstanding efforts were key to the 5th Bomb Wing and ultimately the Air Force saving $132,000 in commercial rental car costs. This team’s attention to detail, pride & selfless dedication was vital to the CUI inspector’s first impression of Team Minot. (U.S Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Kristoffer Kaubisch)
