Celebrating Aggie Muster
MINOT N.D. – Texas A&M graduates in Minot come together to celebrate Aggie Muster, April 21. Aggie Muster is a time-honored tradition of the university, where Aggies come together, wherever they are, to live over again their college days and to remember the lives of Aggies who have died. This tradition gained notoriety in 1942, during World War II, on the last American stronghold in the Pacific, Corrigidor. Brig. Gen. George F. Moore, 1908 graduate of Texas A&M, gathered the names of 25 other Aggies under his command and held a roll call, calling out the names of all those present, despite the fierce fighting as the Japanese continued to lay siege to the island, eventually succumbing to the Japanese attack; only 12 of the 25 survived the battle and Prisoner of War camps to which they were sent.
