SrA Madison Kennon is a Team Chief of an Electro-Mechanical Team (EMT). She directs and mentors teams of Airmen that perform operational troubleshooting, maintenance, coding operations, maintaining command and control systems and ensures the security of 150 Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) and 15 Launch Control Centers (LCCs) throughout the Minot AFB missile complex.

SrA Kennon loves her current career field and finds her work to be rewarding. Less than 1% of the population can say that they have worked on, or even seen an ICBM. Her biggest milestone so far in her career is earning the coveted position of Team Chief. She is one of only four EMT Team Chiefs and the only female EMT Team Chief at Minot AFB.

SrA Kennon views International Women’s Day as important because it gives us a chance to celebrate the women who have not only come before us but also those that we work side by side with every day. Her female mentors that came before her helped her in making difficult decisions and helped guide her in what direction to go in her career. SrA Kennon believes that the military has empowered her in life to be better than she was yesterday.
