Chief Master Sergeant David A. Goldie is the 5th Bomb Wing
command chief master sergeant, Minot Air Force Base, N.D.
As such, he is the primary advisor to the installation commander
on matters concerning the welfare, morale, training, effective utilization,
professional development and career progression of the base enlisted force.
He also serves as the commander's representative for numerous councils,
committees, boards, and military and civilian functions. In addition, he
disseminates the commander's policies to all levels of senior officer and
enlisted leadership at America's only dual-wing, nuclear-capable base.
Chief Goldie was born and raised in Clairton, Pennsylvania, and graduated
from Clairton High School in May 1980. He entered the Air Force in September 1981. Throughout his career, he has worked in a number of different positions at the squadron and numbered Air Force levels in communications-electronics maintenance, quality assurance, electronic warfare, engineering installation and air defense. His assignments include bases in Florida, Mississippi and North Dakota. The chief also served two overseas tours in the Philippines. Before assuming his current position, he was the 5th Communications Squadron superintendent at Minot Air Force Base.
