Weekly trips over to the Military Personnel Flight at the PRIDE Building to take care of personnel transactions may soon be unnecessary.

Beginning March 31, some personnel transactions will be accessible online. Nonetheless, commander’s support staff and military personnel flight members will be available to advise how to complete transactions.

The new Personnel Services Delivery Transformation is an initiative that uses technology to place the capability for conducting routine personnel and pay transactions into the hands of Airmen via Web based applications and the Air Force Contact Center.

The transactions being initiated March 31 are Board of Corrections for Military Records and evaluation appeals, duty history, retirements and retraining. However, some parts of these processes may still require action outside of the online application. Throughout 2006 and 2007, additional transactions will be made available online or through the Air Force Contact Center.

With convenient and secure access from any Internet-ready computer or telephone around the globe, Airmen will avoid waiting in lines, save time and fit their personnel business into their own schedule.

“These easy-to-use and accessible tools will minimize the need for face-to-face assistance with some personnel transactions, and put you more in control for managing your career information,” said Captain Schrecengost.

The Internet will become the first step in initiating these transactions. However, representatives are also available 24/7 toassist at 1-800-616-3775. Additional capabilitywill be added to the internet applications over time. Other initiatives on deck for 2006 and 2007 are Career Job Reservations, Department of Defense forms 214, dream sheets, citizenship, separations, assignments, formal training and reenlistments.

To start initiating available transactions:
• Log onto the Air Force Portal at https://www.my.af.mil
• Select “Life & Career” at the top of the page
• Select “Career” from the drop-down list
• Select “vMPF” under Military Self Service applications
• Select “Self Service Actions” in the left column
• Select the program you are looking for
• Follow instructions on the page

The overall benefits of the PSD are improved access to personnel services, expanded customer service hours and improved access to personal data. Face-to-face guidance for complex issues will still be provided.

According to Captain Schrecengost, the every day use of MyPay or LeaveWeb at work are examples of how many Airmen already use web-based services.

“PSD will enable Airmen to manage more of their personnel business with efficient, intuitive and accurate online personnel services,” said Captain Schrecengost. For more information, contact the commander support staff or call the MPF at 723-2276.
