COLONEL PATRICK E. BUTLER

Colonel Patrick E. Butler is the Commander, 5th Maintenance Group, Minot AFB, North Dakota. As Commander, he leads 1,700 group personnel tasked to provide aircraft and munitions maintenance support for a fleet for 28 B-52 aircraft and munitions stockpiles valued over $6 billion.

Col Butler was commissioned through the United States Air Force Academy. During his 22 years of service, he has been a joint staff officer, commander of two in-garrison squadrons, the commander of three expeditionary aircraft maintenance squadrons, and held numerous other jobs throughout the maintance enterprise. He has extensive deployment experience and has been an aircraft maintenance officer on the B-2, B-52G/H, F-16C/D, A/OA-10A, MC-130E/H/P, AC-130H/U, MH-53J/M, and CV-22. Col Butler is married to the former Aimee Wildung of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and they have five children: Bethany, Brett, Belinda, Brenna, and Boden.
