The 5th MDG's Pediatric Clinic
MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 5th Medical Group's Pediatric Clinic has approximately 2,800 children enrolled in the care program and their staff takes care of approximately 60 children per day. The Pediatric flight includes two Pediatricians and one Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, who are supported by two Registered Nurses and four Medical Technicians. Pediatric care includes routine wellness visits, minor procedures and same day care for acute illnesses. Since happy children make happy parents, the Pediatric Flight "Owns It" by meeting the medical needs of military children which allows active duty members to focus on the mission. Air Force Surgeon General addresses medical service mission and vision
MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Lt. Gen. Thomas W. Travis, U.S. Air Force Surgeon General and Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Lambing, Chief, Medical Enlisted Force, meet with members of the 5th Medical Group's Flight Medicine to discuss unit readiness and bring to light any intricacies in their duties, Oct. 5. During his visit to Minot, the surgeon general learned about the complexities of the Personnel Reliability Program mission which involve more than 3,300 members here. Mugs, hugs: Keeping kids safe
MINOT, N.D. -- The 5th Security Forces Squadron in conjunction with the Minot Police Department hosted the annual Mugs N' Hugs event in the JC Penney's court in the Dakota Square Mall, Oct. 13. The goal of this event was to help promote safety within the community - both on- and off-base. This event allowed Minot police agencies, as well as base security forces, to provide parents with identification kits along with safety tips in case anything were to happen to their child. The kit includes ink for the finger prints, medical information, DNA hair sample and other personal information that will help police agencies during an investigation. If anyone unable to attend the event would like a kit, they can contact Senior Airman Tom Vann at 723-3011. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Brittany Y. Auld)

Team Minot AFSA keeps local community clean
MINOT, N.D. -- The Air Force Sergeant's Association Minot Chapter 959 came together to pick up trash along the U.S. Highway 83 Bypass, Oct. 13, just in time before the winter weather settles in. Chapter 959 has adopted a stretch of the road which spans from the stoplight at the U.S. Highway 83 Bypass North to three miles south.
