Minot Airman passes away

An Airman from the 23rd Bomb Squadron passed away from apparent natural causes at his home on base Tuesday. 

Master Sgt. Randy McDaniel, 42, was Superintendent of Aviation Resource Management. 

Sergeant McDaniel arrived at the base in November, 2005 after completing an assignment atAviano Air Base, Italy. 

"Master Sergeant Randy McDaniel was a loving, dedicated husband and father," said Col. Jerry Hounchel, 23rd BS commander. "He also provided invaluable leadership and mentorship to the young Airmen and officers of the squadron. Sergeant McDaniel will be dearly missed by the men and women of the 23rd Bomb Squadron." 

The Airman from St. Louis, Mo. enlisted in the Air Force in1983. Over his 23 year career
he had served at various locations worldwide including assignments as Superintendent of the Joint Reports and Analysis Branch at U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.; NCO in charge of the Automated Systems Branch at Air Mobility Command Headquarters, also at Scott AFB; and as Alert Response Team Leader with the 842nd security Police Squadron at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D.
