Days of Remembrance was established by the U.S. Congress to memorialize the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust—as well as the millions of non-Jewish victims of Nazi persecution. The week of remembrance is set aside to honor and remember the victims of the Holocaust and their liberators.

This year the Holocaust Days of Remembrance week will be observed from April 19-26, 2020. Holocaust Remembrance Day is Tuesday, April 21, 2020. We must never forget the great atrocity of which mankind is capable. If you have free time during next Tuesday, there are some virtual events you might want to check out.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum will be streaming free live virtual events on April 21, 2020 (ushmm.org):

  • At 11:00 AM DAYS OF REMEMBERANCE COMMEMORATION CEREMONY – “featuring Holocaust survivors’ tributes to family members they lost, a stirring message from Benjamin Ferencz (the las living Nuremberg prosecutor), and timeless words from the late Elie Wiesel” for more information visit their Facebook page.
  • From 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM WHAT YOU DO MATTERS – free event will be streamed live on Museum’s Facebook page. You do not need a Facebook account to watch and the recording will be available after the live gathering has concluded.
