The 52nd annual Team Minot Sportsmen’s Feed, which is designed to bring military and community members together, is scheduled to be held at the Jimmy Doolittle Center at Minot Air Force Base Jan. 22, 2017.

This annual event brings together families and guests from the base and surrounding communities to sample wild game dishes and participate in family activities.

Appetizers will be served from noon until 5 p.m., with the main meal at 6 p.m.

Team Minot will have the opportunity to interact with community members while enjoying various wild game dishes ranging from venison to rocky mountain oysters.

Airmen come from many different parts of the world and this event gives them a chance to sample many different wild game that North Dakota has to offer.

There will be door prizes and a chance to win raffle items donated by various downtown businesses.

For football fans, the NFL's conference championship games can be viewed on projectors in the main hall and on the TVs in the lounge area.

Civic leaders and members of the Minot community donated and will prepare wild game. Each ticket sold allows an Airman to attend the event for free. Many senior leaders on base have purchased tickets to sponsor Airmen and their families.

The Sportsmen's Feed is co-sponsored by the Minot Chamber of Commerce, the Military Affairs Committee and the Minot AFB First Sergeant's Council. The event brings together the base and the downtown community as a way to keep camaraderie and take care of one another.

Building a strong partnership with the local community is very important to show support for the people around the base. We’re not just a base within a community, we’re a family.

At the end of the event, the remaining food is packaged and sent over to shift-workers on base who are unable to attend due to requirements of the mission.

Tickets are still available downtown at the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce. For military, tickets are available on base from your first sergeant.
